Team Canada Shines at Day 3 of the World Deaf Swimming Championships


Thomas Osborn “flys” into the World Deaf Championship Finals

Thomas Osborn recorded 2 personal bests and advanced to 2 finals at Day 3 of the World Deaf Swimming Championships in San Antonio, Texas. Osborn raced to a 29.21 in the Men’s 50 metre backstroke. Just moments later, he dropped over 3 seconds from his personal best in the Men’s 100 metre fly with a 1:01.50.

Damiano Panetta “flys” to a personal best – 100 metre butterfly – 2015 World Deaf Swimming Championship

Brandon Van Wyk and Damiano Panetta had another day of 100% personal best times. Van Wyk clocked a 30.7 in the Men’s 50 metre Backstroke while Panetta raced to 1:08.33 in the Men’s 100 metre fly and 4:42.65 in the Men’s 400 Metre Freestyle.

Osborn will be competing in finals for both backstroke and fly events later this evening. Panetta is first alternate in the finals for the 400 metre freestyle this evening. Team Canada will also be competing in the Men’s 4X100 Medley Relay.
