Selena and Veda both swam in the 100 Back as their last individual events of the meet, achieving personal best times.

Jacob and Josh swam the 50 Breast for their last individual event of the meet and Jacob finished with a personal best.

Later in finals, the 4 x 100 Medley mixed relay finished 8th setting a new Canada Deaf record!

Finishing off the day was the 4 x 100 Men’s relay which qualified in 8th place and moved up a spot to 7th by taking off 5 seconds from their preliminary time.

The swimmers would like to thank their Coach Judy Baker, Team Leader Francis Roussel, and Sport Therapist Karen Hidalgo, who dedicated their time helping the team perform as well as they did. Finally, thank you to the Canadian Deaf Sports Association for supporting the team in attending the event, and the Organizing Committee in Brazil for putting on a wonderful 5th World Deaf Swimming Championships!
