Day 1- Monday, August 26, 2019
Team Canada hit the pool today racing in 6 of the 7 events. Selena Zou started off the day racing in the 400 Free and finishing in 12th place. In the Men's 200 Free, Jacob Blackburn (23rd), Brandon Van Wyk (29th) and Damiano Panetta (31st) all had strong swims. Both girls on the team competed in the 50 Fly, Selena (18th), and Veda Ghanekar (22nd) who posted a personal best time by 5 seconds. In the Men's 50 back, Brandon Van Wyk placed 15th and Joshua Baerg 17th. Veda was just off her personal best time in the 200 Breast ending up in 11th place. For the final event of the day, Jacob raced in the 400 IM placing 15th.
Day 1 was a great start for the Canadian Team who are looking forward to getting back in the water for day 2.
